Upakriti provides grants to projects that are committed to improving the lives of underprivileged children in India. Upakriti has two focus areas - physical well-being and education.
Upakriti believes that physical nurturance and education provide the best chance for at-risk children to break the cycle of poverty and exploitation, and to become contributing members of society. Our goal is to create a permanent change in the lives of these children through long-term involvement with organizations whose work is aligned with Upakriti priorities.
Upakriti supports efforts that enhance the physical and emotional well-being of children by providing and promoting their rights to basic necessities and health care. Our broad goal in the area of education is to advance educational opportunities for underprivileged children and to improve the quality of their educational experience. We plan to accomplish this by facilitating improvements in areas such as teacher staffing, tutoring, teaching aids, school supplies, and basic infrastructure needs.
