Current Initiatives

SOCARE

Deepa Jyoti - Sponsor a SOCARE kid initiative was announced during SunFun 2006.

GnanaVriddhi - In Nov 2005, Upakriti organized a SOCARE Drive and purchased stationery and toiletries for the children.

Anandotsav -

• For Diwali 2005, sweets and food were distributed for children of socare.
• For New Year’s 2006, sweets were distributed and Upakriti volunteer Suman spent time playing games with the children. (Thanks to Suman for spending his new year with these children)

Karunai Illam

Niramaya – As part of this health initiative, on Oct 2, 2006 , a medical camp was conducted for these children. (Thanks to volunteer Priya Navuduri for organizing this)

SmithaVardhanam –

• May 2006, new uniforms were sponsored for all the children (Thanks to Shenoy and family for sponsoring this)
• On Upakriti Day 2004 (April 16th), new uniforms were distributed for all 92 children by Upakriti.

Anandotsav – For Diwali 2005 new kitchen utensils for preparing food for the children sponsored by Upakriti

AIM for SEVA

Anandotsav –

• On Diwali 2005 new cots were purchased for the kids as winter is very harsh in Rishikesh.
• On Diwali 2006 , a special dinner was sponsored by a donor/volunteer (Thanks to Vedha Krishnan for celebrating her Diwali with the children)

SmithaVardhanam – On July 2006, a special lunch was organized for children (Thanks to Saravana Kumaran for sponsoring this on his birthday)

Niramaya – As part of taking care of the health of the kids in AIM, two new water heaters for the hostels were installed so that the children could use hot water in winter for bathing.

Haematology Foundation

Niramaya – In Jan 2007, a new play area for children at Usodhaya hospital is planned to be built (Thanks to Shenoy and family, Yerramreddikalva and family for sponsoring the expenses of the play area completely)

LOTUS

GnanaVriddhi – As part of the education initiative, a computer was sponsored for LOTUS childern.

• Need more donors to complete the Spoonsor a kid initiative for SOCARE
• Need donors to sponsor a new Pumpset for getting drinking water for the children of K.Illam
• Need a PC for SOCARE
