Mission Statement
Upakriti, means "Kindness and Service" in Sanskrit. Upakriti is organized and
operated exclusively for charitable purposes under the U.S. Internal Revenue
Code, Section
501(c)(3).
Upakriti’s Vision
Upakriti believes that educating children is a critical requisite for bringing
about positive socio-economic change. We envision a world in which all schools have the resources to impart quality
education to underprivileged children; education that enables children to reach their full potential and become productive and contributing members of society.
Upakriti’s Mission
Upakriti is a U.S. based nonpolitical, nonreligious, charitable nonprofit organization
committed to improving the academic infrastructure of schools and enabling them to impart quality education to underprivileged children in India .
Upakriti will fulfill its mission by providing funds to schools towards:
- Buying books (libraries, text-books)
- Setting up Labs (Science, Information Technology)
Why Books and Labs?
- Books and Labs are a crucial component of the modern day education system.
Quality education cannot be imparted without these.
- Schools for underprivileged children are under funded and lack funds even for basic academic necessities.
As a result, these schools are forced to place priority on other expenses and treat books and lab expenses as discretionary.
By using Upakriti grants, schools can continue to provide the quality education that underprivileged children deserve.
- The entire school community benefits from the availability of books and quality labs for its students.
This investment in knowledge infrastructure stays with the school for years to come.
And students, regardless of their academic abilities, benefit from these resources.
